Tanya Hall moved to Baltimore from Ukraine in 1998 with her 6-year-old child. Like many new immigrants, she faced significant challenges — from navigating a new culture to finding stable employment.

For several years, she tried to find her path in a new country while supporting her family and adjusting to a different way of life. In 2004, she made a bold decision to try her hand at real estate. That choice would go on to change the course of her life.

Tanya quickly discovered a passion for the industry and committed herself to learning everything she could. She earned a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Johns Hopkins University (Carey Business School), followed by her Maryland Broker’s License in 2011. A year later, she achieved her dream of working for herself by founding her own real estate brokerage — Bay View Realty.

After more than seven years in real estate, Tanya began looking for smarter ways to invest her money. At the time, Baltimore offered many affordable properties that needed only minor repairs. She decided to take a chance -secured a loan, purchased her first investment property, and spent the next year saving to renovate it. Once the work was done, she rented it out.

That decision was life-changing. The rental provided a steady stream of passive income and opened her eyes to the power of real estate as a wealth-building tool. Encouraged by the results, Tanya took out another loan, bought a second property, and kept going from there.

Inspired by her success, Tanya’s family began investing too. When her mother moved to the U.S. after selling her apartment in Ukraine, Tanya helped her purchase a rental property as a safe and simple way to generate income. Her mother now owns multiple income-producing homes and is saving for her next purchase. Tanya’s brother later followed suit, and today he also owns several Baltimore properties.

Through her personal journey, Tanya understands how difficult it can be for immigrants to gain financial security, save for their children’s education, or prepare for retirement. That’s why she has made it her mission to help others achieve the same peace of mind through real estate investment.
